The trails might be getting a bit more crowded but there's so much side/slack/backcountry to explore, and so many directions for our feet to take us, that we're still a bit off from not finding solitude. There definitely is that tension, and no one right answer. It's hard not to feel protective of the places and experiences that mean so much to us!
I was in college when ACG launched and we were all enamored with it. Huckberry did a big feature with ACG and had the relaunch LDV models. I missed out on them. But I found the ACG Zegama and Pegasus in REI and grabbed both. Did a fun trail run sponsored by ACG and Nike sent me a pair of the LDV's. I wear them everywhere. Nike understands this is an untapped market and are going big into bringing ACG back.
That nails the spirit of the episode. It's a great nostalgia play. Your memory roots it even deeper than I imagined. The LDVs take you to a fond place and time. Brilliant.
Agreed. Sedona gets more crowded with every season. Social media has people FOMO.

Agreed. Tension is the right word. I would never want to deny someone the beauty of the sport but I sure do love solitude out there.
Maybe the upside is that the further afield you go, the more room there could be?
Thanks for the thought-starter!

Loved the episode! Nostalgia is a hell of a marketing tactic.
